ABOUT:
Dawn is the opening section of the longer work, Blastoff! … to Mars, scored for saxophone quartet and piano. Although Dawn was created in an attempt at imagining the mood of an astronaut on the morning of an epic journey it could just as easily describe the feelings or state of mind of any person about to embark on or face some fateful event.

Dawn was premiered at the Ian Potter Southbank Centre on 30th May 2022 by the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music Saxophone Ensemble led by Joseph Lallo.
